Etoscha - even for the toughest, the path comes to an end

At the end of June, Bayern-Genetik GmbH had to say goodbye to one of their most well-known bulls of recent years. Etoscha was slaughtered shortly before his 10th birthday because his old age did not allow him to grow old gracefully.
Etoscha was bred by the Artmann farm, Klessing/Germany, and comes from the beginnings of the joint GFN breeding program by the Niederbayern breeding association and Bayern-Genetik GmbH. Etoscha spent his rearing at Xaver Bauer, Rinchnach/Germany.
Due to the internal regulation at that time that initially no bulls with only genomic sires were placed at the station, Etoscha only came to the station when he was about 18 months old.
At that time his genomic breeding values were already in the top range and after a long discussion he was accepted for insemination.

Thank goodness one can say in retrospect, because with the emergence of the first calves, the extraordinary meat production of Etoscha became apparent early on, which is still at FW 125 today. This is another reason why Etoscha became one of the most popular bulls of his time. In addition to beef production, his genomic profile showed him to be an above-average udder sire. A trait that he certainly got from the strong udder M-line of his breeding stable. His daughters still impress today with excellent udders and very good fitness.

His enormous breeding influence on the current population is impressively shown in the top list. As of today, more than 95% of the best sires of the Egel line can be traced back to Etoscha.

Etoscha has sold over 100,000 doses of semen worldwide and his offspring are still very popular.
A small sperm depot is still available for lovers.
